The wine shows classic examples of a Bordeaux styled wine grown in South Africa, although less powerful and forward than other recent vintages. The aromatics include red cherries and jasmine supported by dried herbs. On the palate, red fruit flavours dominate with support of tones of leather and dried thyme. Fine tannins are present that support the fruit structure. Cabernet Sauvignon 57%, Cabernet Franc 27% and Merlot 16%.

Rare beef fillet done in a Chinese barbecue sauce would make this wine come alive, or even a Carpaccio with an anchovy cream and a hint of truffle oil.
